Ready, Set, Serve!

It has only been a couple of days since we’ve arrived to campus, but the bonds and friendships that have been made thus far are a true testimony to the goodness and loving care of our Father.  After a great team meeting on Friday night, we had an early start on Saturday to set hearts and minds on the focus of our Savior. It was a humbling and beautiful experience to run alongside team members, while carrying a cross and reflecting on the true sacrificial love of Jesus.

The rest of Saturday was filled with training sessions, very tasty meals, and sharing testimonies with one another. During our training sessions, we learned about Sawyer (the company supplying the water filters we will be training families to use in El Salvador), sprayed all of our clothes with insect repellent (yet another awesome product from Sawyer!), ate a delicious lunch—provided by the fantastic Mr. and Mrs. King (THANK YOU!), and spent time focusing on what God says regarding missions. To end our night, we enjoyed fellowship and home-cooked food at Coach Luley’s casa!  Needless to say, we are EXCITED and READY.

But first- WALMART…The place where airplane snacks are purchased and the coolness of God is seen. It is already so evident that this team brings together a wide range of gifts and talents. From seeing the awesome, God-given abilities of athletes from various sports, to watching one of the most clearly identified spiritual gifts of a giving heart in action, the love of Jesus within team members is already overflowing, and we cannot wait to pour into the lives of those in El Salvador!
Muffins, frisbees, and friendship bracelets- Oh my!
Today we enjoyed a morning of worship and fellowship, attending church as one big family, and then enjoying a delicious brunch that was graciously provided by Coach John and his family. This afternoon, we spent time packing books, supplies, and equipment, while continuing to equip our hearts and minds during another training session.

We have an early morning tomorrow, and prayers for working alarms, calmed fears, excited hearts, and safe travels would be greatly appreciated!
